Reinforcement differs from restoration. It does not claim that damage never occurred; it adds support where a structure can no longer hold by itself. Phokojoe makes that additional labour part of the work’s meaning. The title can be read socially as well as materially – communities under pressure survive through mutual support, shared knowledge and repeated maintenance, especially where housing and public systems fail. Repair is understood as an ongoing arrangement rather than a finished state.
