Dibo carries the history of the fabrication workshop. A cast multiple can be produced from a mould; a steel edition requires repeated acts of measuring, cutting, fitting and welding. That process involves skilled labour beyond the artist alone, including assistants and specialist fabricators whose contributions art history has often left unnamed. Villa worked for decades with Lucas Legodi, a collaboration that reminds us that modern sculpture is frequently collective production presented under a single artist’s name.
