This is the original carved wood panel used by Dumile Feni to produce the accompanying woodcut impression. Made during Feni’s final period in South Africa, it predates his departure into exile in 1968. The panel documents his early engagement with printmaking and should be read as an original matrix rather than as a preparatory study or later reconstruction.
