His steel sculpture often entered corporate plazas, campuses and civic settings, where modernism advertised progress, confidence and institutional power. Made in 1993, this editioned work carries that public language into a period of political transition and private circulation. It raises a practical question for collectors – how does a monument change when it leaves the civic realm and becomes part of a home, garden or private collection?
