    Bridjat is one of only two examples in its declared edition. Producing a large fabricated-steel edition of this size required substantial material, workshop capacity, transport and capital; scarcity was therefore a condition of production. The work represents an ambitious attempt to combine the authority of monumental steel with the distributive logic of the edition. Its current painted surface also has a conservation history – on steel, colour and corrosion protection are both aesthetic and practical decisions.
